Vancouver, B.C.: Today, BroadbandTV (BBTV), a digital entertainment company which exists to empower creators and inspire audiences, announced a collaboration with PBS, America’s preeminent public broadcaster and content provider and PBS Distribution, a leading distributor of public media content, to manage fan-uploaded content on YouTube for popular shows including NOVA, FRONTLINE, and Nature, as well as PBS KIDS series. PBS, America’s most trusted national institution*, joins a growing roster of major media and entertainment companies that utilize BBTV’s content management services including the NBA, Viacom, Sony Pictures, Univision, Warner Bros., Turner and FremantleMedia.
“We’re helping PBS control their premium IP across digital, opening up new opportunities, and further connecting them to their digital fans.” commented Lewis Ball, VP of Interactive, e-Commerce and Professional Services, BroadbandTV.
BBTV’s Professional Services team utilizes VISO NOVI, its proprietary offering and service which detects, tracks and measures fan activity associated with premium content and puts the rights owners back in control of their IP.
“The entertainment industry is facing a lot of challenges – not the least of which is protecting our IP,” commented Andrea Downing, Co-President of PBS Distribution. “We need a suite of tools to be successful, and BroadbandTV will be a powerful ally in managing our content on YouTube.”
BBTV remains the third largest video property globally following only Google and Facebook, according to the April 2018 comScore Top 100 Video Properties Worldwide report for Unique Viewers.
