Vancouver, B.C.: BroadbandTV Corp. (BBTV), an enabling platform for content owners that is advancing the world through the distribution, management and monetization of content, is pleased to announce Shahrzad Rafati, Founder & CEO, BBTV has been selected as a Finalist for The KPMG in Canada Award for HR Champion (CEO) in the 7th annual Canadian HR Awards.
Since 2013, The Canadian HR Awards, presented by HRD Canada and supported by Canadian HR Reporter, has celebrated the outstanding HR teams, leaders, employers and service providers across the nation for their achievements and best practices. Finalists were selected following an open call for nominations to HRD Canada’s and Canadian HR Reporter’s nationwide readership of 34,800 HR professionals.
At BBTV there is a zero percent gender pay gap. According to McKinsey, closing the pay gap could add $28 trillion dollars to the global GDP by 2025*, increasing it by 26%. In Canada, it could add $150 billion to Canada’s GDP by 2026** if all genders played an identical role in the labour market. BBTV believes that building a gender balanced organization is not just the right thing to do from a moral standpoint, but it’s the smart thing to do as it delivers with market leadership, growth and innovation.
“A core part of BBTV’s DNA is being an active leader across Canada ensuring equity, accessibility, and inclusion in all forms”, says Shahrzad Rafati, Founder & CEO, BBTV. “BBTV leads by example as a truly quadruple bottom line business measuring success not only on financial performance but also on people, social, and environmental KPIs. The amazing people at BBTV are the driving force behind our continued success, and this recognition is for all of us.”
Canadian HR Awards project director Jessica Duce states, “This has been an incredibly challenging year for HR professionals. The list of finalists is a true snapshot of the best and brightest in HR and honours those who had stepped up and put their people first at a time when it mattered most. It’s our honour to acknowledge and celebrate this deserving group at the September show.”
Winners will be selected by an esteemed independent judging panel and revealed during the virtual awards show on September 16th. For the full list of finalists, visit www.hrawards.ca.
